Whose pushing the panic button. I don't care what the Liberty do or what Blaze does. They're stupidity this year benefits my team, the Sun. NY is competition in the East with the Sun, so their loss at a number one or first round draft pick is the Sun's gain.
How does Minnesota getting the #1 pick from New York benefit Connecticut? If you're talking about Connecticut possibly having the chance to draft Tina Charles and keep her there, don't forget that Sacramento has the #2 pick ahead of Connecticut(unless a Sacto/Connecticut trade takes place). They might have their sights set on Tina too.And as I said before, there is still alot of time between now and April for New York to make a deal and get another 1st round pick.So the draft order isn't set in stone yet.
Duh, don't you pay attention? Having NY not having the number 1 pick in the draft means they won't be getting Tina Charles or Jayne Appel on their team. NY is in the same conference as Connecticut and if NY had Tina or Jayne, that would make NY more dangerous in the conference when they play Connecticut.
What I said has nothing to do with trades or Sacramento. Keeping NY weak means that Connecticut will have better chances at beating them. So yes, NY giving away their top draft pick makes them a weaker team in the same Conference that Connecticut plays in.

I would really want to know what was going on her mind when she made that trade. Judging by the fact she still has her job, I think there is some reasoning why the owners of Liberty haven't said to her - "thanks but we won't be needing your services anymore". Sadly we don't know whats going on behind the scenes - it would be so much more interesting if we would.
It was before this season started, and Blaze only had last year's(2008)results to go on at the time.I guess she was confident enough that the Liberty would improve on last year's playoff run,and and she thought she was making the right decision at the time. After all,Blaze is not psychic. She could not have forseen that this year's outcome would be so drastically different than what the team had set out to achieve,or that, due to the eventual outcome, that the Liberty would end up having strong odds of securing the #1 pick in the draft.Despite this debacle, the Liberty have done some good wheeling and dealing in the past, and it has paid off. There is still time for them to put together a good trade deal and try to get another first round pick.In addition to the pick the Liberty gave them,Minnesota also has the #4 pick which is their own.If the Liberty comes up with a great trade,Minnesota might be willing to part with that #4 pick. And as I stated in my last post, draft picks alone won't be enough to help the Liberty. They need to study that vintage Liberty footage in training camp next year and take notes. So let's not be so quick to crucify Blaze and the front office, and let's not push the panic button just yet.

Yep, it's Carol Blazejowski NY Liberty GM, fans refer to her as Blaze.
Fans also refer to her as 'Idiot'. LOL.

Seeing how great Blaze is with trades I wouldn't be surprised if she traded J-Mac for a draft pick.
Blaze? Who's Blaze!?
