Thank you, Bezet!

Our Nicky Anosike answered the bell against Dynamo Kursk yesterday... BIG TIME!

Bezet... I posted your entire comment on the www.mcmbasket ro frontpage.

But I am sooooooooo ticked-off that the MCM Targoviste coach did not have Nicky in his starting lineup!

He's entitled to ONE mistake.  And let this be it!

There is NO ONE on his team that Nicky Anosike should be warming the bench behind!  NO ONE!!!

Don't let me have to go over there and straighten him out in this matter! (lol) (lol)

The coach yielded to public sentiment -- after Nicky only got 5 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in their EuroCup loss last week in Cyprus -- and benched Nicky.

But like I said on the Romanian website... if Coach Catalin Tanase can be swayed by public opinion, then he should be a politician... not a coach.

If he is a good coach, he should start his best players!

And with Nicky coming off of the BENCH to lead his team in scoring and rebounding... it is quite clear that one of his best players is Nicky Anosike... Big Nick... the Big Nasty!

It was a huuuuuge insult for Coach Tanase to bench Nicky after only one game -- her first game since knee surgery in September.

Coach Tanase and the MCM Targoviste fans oughta be glad that Nicky didn't come off of the bench with an attitude and intent to play like a bench-warmer.

Congratulations, Bezet... on KSSSE AZS PWSZ Gorzów Wielkopolski's first ever EuroLeague victory!  Yes... each victory is history... for the good people of Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland.

Were you there at the arena?  I see where over 800 Gorzów fans crowded in to see the game!

I watched play-by-play at www.fibaeurope.com.  Sidney Spencer hit 8 of her 12 points in the first quarter.

It was a low-scoring affair.  But at least, when our shots weren't falling... we disrupted their offense so their shots wouldn't fall either!  Go Gorzów!

My Nicky Anosike plays later today... for the first time on Romanian soil... before a sellout crowd!  Nothing new for Nicky.  Just another soldout arena... in a different city... and a different country. (lol)  Bring on Michelle Snow, Jillian Robbins and the Russians, Dynamo Kursk!

Big Nasty... you know what to do!  Dictate and dominate!  Box out and rebound!  Seal-off your man and score!  Own the paint!  Take your time and knock down your freethrows!  Focus and execute!

My friend jesus in the Romanian fan forum at www.numaibaschet.ro says that we can watch Nicky's game on this link -- www.mufa-tv.ro/romanesti/tvr2.html

Jesus is a great MCM Targoviste supporter... who I am learning so much from about women's basketball in Romania.

Also costas218 in the Romanian fan forum says:

"Hy deeo,
you can see the match at    www.mufa-tv.ro/romanesti/tvr2.html
You must open the link with Internet Explorer and you have to install sopcast player from www.sopcast.ro/download.html or www.sopcast.com/download/ . You have to wait for the channel to load.

Also if you see a yellow pop up above your page click on it and click Run ActivX.
The game will start at 19:00(Romanian time).

Good luck and Forza MCM."

Israel looks like a fun place for WNBA rookies to play this off-season!

Minnesota Lynx rookie Rashanda McCants is straight-up ballin', y'all... averaging 22.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game!

Chicago Sky rookie Kristi Toliver is leading the Israeli league in scoring and assists, averaging 25.8 points and 7.3 assists per game.  While Sacramento Monarchs rookie Courtney Paris is leading the Israelis in rebounding, averaging 15.4 rebounds per game.

These young ladies are taking turns as Player of the Week since their season started there.

And Happy Birthday Quanitra Holloingsworth!

Quanitra celebrated her birthday overseas with a nice long article:     www.fibaeurope.com/cid_KNce8jInH7Qj1EsyH...

Get ready, Nicky Anosike!  It looks like there is going to be a sellout crowd for your first game on Romania soil... thanks -- in large part -- to Daniel Gheorghe.  What a great PR man for MCM Targoviste... www.mcmbasket.ro!  Slamming game commercial!

It's time to lock and load, Big Nick!  Hone in on your moves in the paint... over and over again.  Get your time on the line after practice... because you're going to be shooting a lot of freethrows.  Squats and leaps to get the knee loosened up and strengthened for the game.  Then ice, elevate, take the anti-inflammatories and hydrate.

Same goes for Sidney Spencer in Poland.  We have EuroLeague on our court this week.  Be aggressive.  Crash the boards.  Hone in on your shots, Sidney.

Thanks, ammons... but Nicky Anosike has a few naysayers and detractors in Romania following her debut for them in EuroCup last Thursday... a debut that netted her 5 points, 8 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals in 32 minutes of play in a loss to KV Imperial AEL in Cyprus.

You know Nicky is a great player.  And I know Nicky is a great player.  But the Romanians are paying her 175,000 Euro ($260,000 USD)... and they're not so sure. (lol) (lol)

Never mind that this is Nicky's first game since she hobbled off of the court on Sept. 1 with Minnesota... resulting in knee surgery on Sept. 15th.  Nicky just didn't deliver the goods in her first game for them.

And to top it all off... her team's officials in Romania signed Nicky back in April -- knowing that Nicky's presence on the roster would eliminate the services of one of their best players in Euro Cup, Chrissy Givens (who just netted 29 points and 19 rebounds in their last Romanian league game).

The EuroCup rules only allow two non-Europeans per team.  Nicky's team already had Emma Randall (Australian) and Chrissy (American).  The team decided to go with Nicky and Emma for EuroCup play.

So, now the natives are restless. (lol) (lol)

But while I will always cherish the memories of the Tennessee Lady Vols during Candace Parker and Nicky's era, I'm glad that Nicky got the opportunity to move out of Candace's huge shadow and make a name for herself at Minnesota... and in the WNBA.

That's why I started this thread to chat her up and let people know how truly remarkable Nicky is, too.

Meanwhile... Candace is a legend happening before our very eyes!

Every trip on the court, Candace is writing her legacy!  She's IT right now in Los Angeles... and in the WNBA!

But I will always savor the memory of Candace Parker, Nicky Anosike, Alexis Hornbuckle, Sidney Spencer, Shannon Bobbitt, Alberta Augusty and Shanna Crossley together at Tennessee.  That's my team... and those are my favorite Lady Vols.  (Uh... and you can throw Tamika Catchings into that bunch, as well. (lol) (lol))!

Ninti... don't stop trying to post!

Just keep selecting the "Post Reply" button until it lets you through.  This new WNBA format requires a lot of software to run.  And every time you load a page, it has to download java software onto your computer to run that page.  If your computer does not have a lot of free space it may take a few tries to get'ur done.  Or if you have real stringent protection software on your computer, it may slow up the process, as well.

Just keep trying, ninti!

And cash... I see what you're talking about.  When I went back in this thread to look for Nicky Anosike videos, I saw where ALL of your posts were not listed under your name... but under "NBA Team Admin".

In fact, there are over 29,000 posts listed under "NBA Team Admin".  So, cash... you're not the only one whose posts were gobbled up during the transfer to this new WNBA format.

Nicky Anosike... Big Nick... the Big Nasty... hydrate, medicate, elevate, dedicate, concentrate, dictate and dominate! (lol)  Now... let that marinade.

MCM Targoviste plays the Russians, Dynamo Kursk, this week in Romania.  Even though they're the favorites to win our EuroCup Group H, I think we can steal this game.  A win for Nicky's team would put the Romania fans at ease and put her team's EuroCup hopes back on track.  Go MCM Targoviste!

And Sidney Spencer is still undefeated in Poland... despite three straight losses in EuroLeague.  Now... if we can only carry our league play over to our EuroLeague play this week on our home court in Gorzów Wielkopolski.  Go KSSSE AZS PWSZ Gorzów Wielkopolski!

I am so proud to see so much stuff in the media about my young cousins, Antonita Slaughter (#22), A.J. Slaughter (#4) and Jodie Meeks (#23).  Okay, it's family album time!  You know it! (lol) (lol)

Antonita is ranked #1 in Kentucky and #45 in the country by ESPN... the #10 small forward in the nation.  She just signed with Louisville.  Go Louisville Lady Cards!          www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/la...       insider.espn.go.com/ncw/recruiting/track...

It's A.J.'s senior year at Western Kentucky and the Lexington Herald-Leader did a spread on him yesterday.  Go Western Kentucky Hilltoppers!          www.kentucky.com/moresports/story/102140...

And Jodie decided to forgo his senior at Kentucky and enter the NBA Draft... where he was drafted with the 41st pick by Milwaukee.  And he finally got off of the bench to play!  He even scored 19 points against the New York Knicks.  Go Milwaukee Bucks!          www.nba.com/playerfile/jodie_meeks/index...

Big Money... our big baby girl had better beat down the Russian Dynamo Kursk team next week in Romania... or else!

C'mon, Big Nick!  Break out the Big Nasty!

Trust that your knee is fine!

FOCUS!

EXECUTE!

There is no reason for you to miss layups in the paint.  Make your move.  Find the basket.  And finish!  Either come away with the basket or freethrows... or both!

Own the paint!

Dictate and dominate!

Inbetween workouts, be sure to hydrate... drink plenty of WATER -- not just sports drinks... take your anti-inflammatories... ice-down and elevate.

Nikki Anoisike is a good player, as a Sparks fan i wish she were matched with Parker again like at Tennessee.

Cash... I said I was going to stay up all night to watch the play-by-play of Nicky Anosike's game in Cyprus.  So, I stayed up... and I stayed up.  And at 5:30 a.m., I fell asleep, Big Money! (lol) (lol)

I woke up at 1:30 p.m.... at halftime.  And Nicky's team was behind 46-40.  Nicky started... and had no points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal at the half.

Nicky ended the game with 5 points, 8 rebounds (4 offensive rebounds), 3 assists and 2 steals.

Yaaaaay... Nicky is back!  Booooo... we lost!  Yeeepp... but I bet we won't lose next time! (lol) (lol)

Cosmin at the MCM Targoviste website is reeeeeaaal mad at Nicky Anosike... for not playing better.  Well, Big Money... here we go again. (lol) (lol)  It's Israel and mj23 all over again. (lol) (lol)

And cash... I'm so proud!  My little cousin (LITTLE?! 6'2") Antonita Slaughter -- one of the nation's top 100 high school basketball players -- held a press conference yesterday and announced that she would be going to Louisville next year.  I got my whoopie cushion all ready to go to all of her home games next season. (lol) (lol)

My other little cousin Jodie Meeks is not doing ANYTHING with the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA... but riding the bench.  Maybe he should have stayed at Kentucky for his senior year this year.  But Coach Billy Gillispie hurt his spirit so bad in the last two seasons... under that drunk (Gillispie just got another DUI, his 4th).  Jodie just didn't want any part of Kentucky this year... even with a new coach.  He only needed 13 hours to graduate.  And I think he did them online.  As long as he is happy... I'm happy for him.

And Antonita's brother, A.J. Slaughter, is starting his senior year with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers... who just defeated Xavier (Louisiana), 90-37.  What kind of team was that? (lol) (lol)

And thank you, cash.  This Nicky avatar is her playing card.  But there are so many other photos I want to try.  I guess I'll be changing them like I change my shoes. (lol) (lol)
